You know it is summer in the city, when every weekend there are road closures and traffic jams in every neighborhood because of an event. Long before the banners are placed and the crowds show up, the cry for volunteers rings out. During the early spring months, many of our staff and montage community members sign-up, then attend orientation and training sessions so they can participate as welcome and information ambassadors, animal care attendants, kids n’ craft monitors or dog wranglers! So far this summer we have continued to grow our connection and commitment to Jane’s Walk, Doors Open Toronto, Woofstock and Luminato. We have been embraced by these and other events and are building quite a network. Luminato ran a series of training sessions at Harshi’s condo – Harshi and Liz volunteered last year and inspired others to join this year. Chris, who also volunteers with AccessTO, has been invited to the pre opening media event as an accessibility advisor. A lot of the events we partner with are in the downtown area. Given that Montage has locations all across the GTA, our intention is to connect within our neighborhoods to contribute our time and talent to local events. If you know of one, please get in touch.
