CACL and Community Living Ontario need your help!
Like seniors and students, people with disabilities have had extra expenses during the pandemic, but unlike seniors and students, they haven’t received any federal financial support.
We are asking each of you to email a letter within the next 24 hrs to the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, the Minister of Finance, Bill Morneau and copy the Minister of Disability Inclusion, Carla Qualtrough. The more letters, the better. The goal is to urge the federal government to financially assist people who have a disability and their families during this time.
Here is the letter Community Living Ontario sent. Feel free to use this as a guide.
Address your letter to: Justin Trudeau: pm@pm.gc.ca and Bill Morneau: Bill.Morneau@canada.ca
Copy Carla Qualtrough: Carla.Qualtrough@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca
Share the following social media post on your feeds: 22% of Canadians who have a disability & families who provide critical supports have not received any federal help despite experiencing an increase in expenses to basic needs. That needs to change! @Bill_Morneau @JustinTrudeau @CQualtro #1in5LeftBehind https://bit.ly/363BhSW
