This approach focuses on the relationships between employers and the person seeking work by blending and building on the needs of the employer with the person’s abilities.
The three phases, Discovery, Development and Doing actively engage the participant in the process based on their interests, innate talents and the types of tasks and environments that they are naturally drawn to. Additional information is collected from family, friends, inner circle and community connections that enable us to get a full picture of the person that will help define themes as we move forward.
Once placed, Job coaches stay on site for task training, engagement and education of co-workers and until the worker is confident enough and the natural supports of the work environment are in place.
Although employment cannot be guaranteed, participants are left with a collected tracking file of themes, search contacts and trials that can be retained, updated and built on throughout their working years.
