For many of us, there is nothing like a winter break to the sun, sand and surf, looking forward to a beach holiday and leaving the un-predictability of winter weather behind. It can be fun just to be spontaneous and grab the best deal, and for some people, the anticipation and planning can be just as much fun.
For Paul, it started with a conversation, last year, around Mother’s Day. Paul over heard a staff talking to her mother, and he felt sad that his own mother was no longer around. The empathy of the staff person, led to a heart to heart chat about Paul’s favorite memories with his family. Paul shared that he treasured the times that he spent with his parents and siblings at the beach.
And so began the planning for his trip to Cuba. Passport? Check…Money? Check.. Sunscreen? Check..and details details details !! Accompanied by Mery, the holiday was a chance for Paul to celebrate his 50th Birthday and to re visit his connection to the sounds and senses of a beach. Navigating sand dunes was certainly a challenge, but when you can light up a Cuban cigar at the end of the day…Es bueno living la vida loca!
